Your personal chef in Rome grew up on traditional Italian dishes, like Carbonara and Saltimbocca alla Romana, and are delighted to them with you!

Ciao! I’m Silvia, and I’m your personal chef in Rome for Chef@Home. I have a degree in History of Cinema and Critique, but I’ve always been passionate about food and cooking. I worked all over Europe as a personal chef until I decided to attend formal culinary school. I’ve also lived in Paris and studied French cuisine. Upon returning to Italy, I nurtured my passion and gained valuable experience as a chef. I look forward to bringing the best of Roman cuisine into your home away from home with Chef@Home personal chef services, and preparing a delicious and memorable meal, including my specialty: Roman Saltimbocca!

Ciao! I’m Claudio, an experienced home cooking teacher and food blogger. After receiving my degree from “Scuola Tu Chef” culinary school, I brought my skills and passion to restaurant kitchens in the heart of Trastevere, in Rome. Throughout my career I’ve worked with large, upscale clients, including the University of California, organizing catering and cooking lessons using fresh, local ingredients. What’s my strongest culinary passion? Anything sweet! I love baking desserts, especially birthday cakes! I look forward to sharing the secrets of traditional Roman cooking with you through Chef@Home.

Here’s a classic Italian dinner menu prepared for Chef@Home. Dishes and ingredients may change depending on season and availability.

Savory wafer cups with cherry tomatoes, ricotta cheese, and local, fresh olive oil. What could be a better way to start your authentic, Roman dinner?

Classic antipasto dishes include classic bruschetta with fresh tomatoes and basil from the market, selection of local meats or cheese, or tasty crispy wafer cups filled with fresh cherry tomatoes, olive oil, and ricotta cheese.

Simple pasta with cherry tomatoes, olives, almonds, and finished with fresh, locally produced olive oil

Pasta Course

Following the antipasto, Italians always prepare a pasta course. The most Roman of pasta dishes include carbonara, amatriciana, and cacio e pepe. The chef may also prepare a risotto dish, a kind of pasta that is very similar to rice but with a creamy, buttery texture.

The real deal: Traditional Roman Saltimbocca

Meat Course

No holiday in Rome is complete without real Roman Saltimbocca. Our chefs have grown up on this dish, composed of thin, high quality veal cutlets, prosciutto (ham) and sage leaves, rolled and lightly floured before cooked in a frying pan with locally produced olive oil. As a vegetarian option, our chefs can prepare a traditional frittata, a kind of Italian omelette, full of fresh vegetables from the market. Fresh fish may also be available but is dependent on availability and subject to a slight price increase.

All real Italian meals include contorni, or sides, that complement the meat course. Our chefs will choose the best complements for your dinner based on what they find in the market, but usual favorites include cut potatoes, baked and seasoned with rosemary or hot and cold bean dishes.

Meals always end on sweet note with a favorite Italian classic, tiramisu. Special lady fingers soaked in Italian espresso, layered with sweet mascarpone cheese and finished with deluctibly bitter cacao, prepared fresh by our chefs or with your help!

We're all family. Any glass will do!

Of course, what complements such a real Italian experience than fine Italian wine? Allow our chefs to choose wine that will enhance the simple flavors of the food, or bring your own special bottle! There are no corkage fees when you dine in your own home!

A unique dining experience in Rome doesn’t have to break the bank. You can have your own private chef prepare a full, traditional Italian meal in the comfort of your vacation apartment at prices comparable to dining at a traditional restaurant!
